Did the school guidelines change since your first semester in college ?

Nope. I just got back from the school and even spoke with the same admissions/academic advisor who told me to mark "no." We looked up the year when I attended and it is the same as it is today. He told me to mark "no" because nowhere on my records does it indicate that I was ever put on academic probation. He admits that he advised me to mark "no" so I do no think I am in any trouble. I mean, how the hell am I supposed to know about an incident 10 years ago? I called, asked, and was told "no"... so I did what the guy told me. Now I look like the douche/liar.

Both are minor incidents. Just correct the records & sleep well.

I hear ya wolf. I am not worried about the incidents (especially since they happened so long ago). I am more worried about the fact that I omitted them despite my best efforts to be open and honest. :(

Hopefully the adcoms won't hold it against me...

I don't think it'll be a big deal. Why would it?

Your target transfer school won't see the omissions on your current school's application, and obviously your transfer application will disclose these incidents. The bar, even if they do pull your original application with the omissions, will see that (a) your error was in good faith, and (b) you corrected it on your transfer application.

If you're really in doubt, then also take the time to retroactively amend your current school's application.

I wish that were the case ! Problem is, I already applied to the schools where I may potentially transfer. So... when the adcoms pull up my old application they are going to see I marked "no" last year, but marked "yes" this year. Thus, I must explain the discrepancy b/w the two applications.

So, explain it like you did above. You have a plausible reason for the original answers and the change.

If your school is still telling you that they don't have a record of you being placed on academic probation, I don't think I would change that answer. It might, however, be helpful to have it confirmed in writing that they have no such record of academic probation in case you are later questioned about it.
