Looking for Input

Disclaimer: I'm also pursuing several other avenues for info, but I'm curious what TLS things.

I'm at Wayne State University (TTT in Detroit, MI) and want to stay in Michigan long term (family, friends, etc.).

As it sits, I'm sitting inside the top 10% mark from last year with 1 grade pending this semester. I did reasonably well first semester (top 20-25%ish), but have so far killed second semester (A, A, A+ with that one last grade to go). If the last grade is an A, I will be just outside last year's top 5% cutoff. If the last grade is a B+, I will be outside last year's top 10% cut off. LR is grade-on for the Top 10% here.

I have a substantial scholarship (3/4 tuition) and low debt (totaling about $26k for COL/tuition) going into my second year.

I've basically determined that if I can't/don't get accepted by a T14 school, there is really no justification to transfer. I have mild interest in Chicago as a market, but feel that my job prospects as a top 10-15% student in Detroit are better than transferring to another regional in a place I don't want to live long term.

If I were to get into a T14... I'm not sure what I'd do - it feels like a tough call, hell, one of my Profs has already said that its a tough call. The other one I've talked to said go if accepted.

I haven't put much thought into this until this past weekend because I figured my 1st semester grades would essentially preclude me from transferring, but now that the transfer cycle has begun and its suddenly in play, I'm trying to accelerate my decision making process - hence why I'm here looking for advice and suggestions.

Looking forward to your thoughts

If you get into a T16 you should go.

To have a shot at T14 from a TTT, you're going to need at least Top 5%. Good luck on that last grade.
