Speak in the first person?

Alright, so I'm filling out some transfer applications right now. This is probably just me over-analyzing things but so be it. Here's an example of a frequent question on applications: "List all scholastic or academic honors you have received, including scholarships, fellowships, prizes, honor societies, etc."
My question is, do you speak in first person? I.e., "I was awarded X prize for. . . ." Or straight-forward broken sentences? I.e., "Awarded X for completing Y. Achieved Dean's List for Z semesters. . . ."
As I mentioned, I may be over-analyzing things but this has always been my nature. Any insight would be appreciated.
