Can't you do better than that (transfer into a higher ranked FT program)? Do you have a job lined up in DC that is flexible enough for you to work and do PT school? Seems strange to want to spend an extra year earning the same degree unless you have some pretty compelling reasons.

I'm curious about this as well.
I'm on the cusp, after first semester, of what GULC seems to take. I'm getting some great experience this summer that may very well be marketable for part-time work, and I'd honestly love to keep up PT work in the legal field.
Is it possible to transfer from FT to PT? Is it going to be less competitive to do so? This would be an alternative to getting to GULC if FT didn't work out, but I'm really unsure of this process.
The extra year isn't ideal, but if I'm gaining work experience and getting my degree from GULC, I can easily substantiate the move.

On the application you can check that you'd like to be considered for both PT & FT.

I'm a rising 3L at GULC. Once you get beyond 1L year, scheduling gets a lot more flexible. Plenty of people work part time and either take all their classes over two or three days or primarily at night. I think the PT work possibilities are one of the big benefits to going to school in DC.
You can apply to both programs, but honestly it is not a big deal if you get into the FT program to just go PT.
Edit: I don't think there is any bias towards people already working in DC. I think it's mostly that so many GW, American, Catholic, etc. people apply to GULC that a skewed number of people from those schools transfer here.
