Is there any reason for a prospective transfer student to be worried about being sabotaged by their original school so as to prevent a transfer? This seems highly paranoid, but I do not trust the Dean at my school, and I get the feeling he is capable of such tactics. Also, what courses of action might the school take if I do not end up transferring after all? Are retaliatory measures commonplace?

I am suspicious because I asked my school before second semester grades were released to send my transcript when second semester grades are actually released. No grades yet, but I seem to have this insatiable desire to reach for the bottom of the doubt/uncertainty/fear barrel.

At most schools the dean and many if not most of your professors don't care enough about each individual student for your strongly paranoid mentality to make any sense, so unless you're guilty of an egregious offense, I would stop worrying.

I've heard rumors of lower ranked schools hindering transfer apps by delaying LORs and necessary certification letters (don't know how true these stories are). However, you would be best advised to request all the necessary documents as soon as you can if your worried.

Some law schools do delay transcripts in an effort to thwart transfer attempts.

OP: Since you are a scholarship student at your current law school & the dean has requested and held a meeting with you to discuss your reasons for wanting to transfer, your current law school is aware of & concerned about your desire to leave.
