Transferring from UF to Yale-USC

0L Question:

I know we cannot know for sure, and that some people will see this as a dumb question, but I would love to know where a student coming from the University of Florida would have to rank in order to transfer to USC or better (because these are the only schools I think are worth it… If you think this is wrong, because the list should be smaller and higher up, or because it is too small of a range, please let me know).

Also, I know you can’t just work hard in law school and expect to be in the top of the class, but something tells me my work is going to pay off, and I would love to have some more inspiration/goals to set, and hopefully one day achieve.

Any comments, advise, or help of any kind is much appreciated!

Thank you!!!

Further info about myself:

From Florida
Really high GPA from a T50 school/medium strength major
Not URM
Low 160’s LSAT score
Normal amount of work experience for someone in their early 20’s (even some in law)
My softs are of medium to extremely high strength, depending on who’s reading the app and how they look at life.

Please place the percentile, or percentile range, next to each school individually.

Yale –
Harvard –
Stanford –
Columbia –
Chicago –
NYU –
Michigan –
U Penn –
UC Berkeley –
Virginia –
Duke –
Northwestern –
Cornell –
Georgetown –
Texas –
UCLA –
Vanderbilt –
Southern California –

Retaking will be infinitely better than planning on transferring. Also, TLS rule of thumb is never enroll planning to transfer. If you dont want the UF JD and all that it entails, then don't go to UF.

The UF JD is something I want! However, I want a JD from a T-10 more! This is a business decision, and surely a good one for myself.

Retaking is not an option; please don’t make me explain why. FWIW, I would advise most people to retake, but not for me, not now.

Not necessarily, that isn't a good assumption to make. And why not? If you really want a JD from a T-10, it's worth it to retake.

If you were looking at it like a business decision, you should see the best time investment: reward ratio of your entire life is the LSAT, and therefore it's worth it to retake.
