Top Law Schools

I currently go to a T3 in Ohio. I have a 3.65(All A's with a B- in torts) and am 16/126, putting me around 12-13%. This semester there will be more full time students (transition students) and traditionally at my school second semester GPA's fall, probably resulting in me ending up in the top 10%. My undergrad GPA was a 2.5 at Michigan and my LSAT scores were 151(took it blind) and a 155. I'm willing to apply to any school to transfer. Right now I'm planning on blanketing the 35-45 range schools with some fallback schools in the 50-70 range. Is this a good strategy? I feel like this is the price is right and I am playing the price range game, sliding the bar up and down the rankings. I ultimately want to maximize the probability of getting into the best school possible, no matter where that school is. I have two letters of Rec lined up and could possibly get more if needed. Let me know what you think.

Where do you want to work when you graduate?

A larger metro area. Similar to Chicago, Pitt, Atlanta, D.C., Boston etc.

If you end up in the top 10% you need to be blanketing WUSTL to Wisconsin...

Toledo, CSU, Capital, or Akron?

Coming from any I would apply to: OSU, Michigan, Penn, Cincy, Indy, Illinois, WUSTL, PSU.

Toledo or Akron, don't really want to say because the school doesn't encourage people to transfer.

Toledo doesnt encourage transfers? I know of a couple people on the boards from there who have made successful transfers to Michigan. Get your GPA up and you'll have a better shot at making a big jump, though I think Penn and MIchigan are definitely out.

I wouldn't even apply to GMU, American, Kent, Loyola, or W&L. Your job prospects aren't going to be that much better from those schools. You're better at top 5% at a T3 than anything below top15% at those schools.

Personally I wouldn't transfer to anything outside of the T30 or so.

You should get into a bunch of those. Unless you hit Top 5% you'll be wasting your money at Michigan, Duke, Chicago. Good luck.

I realize that being around the top at a T3 isn't terrible. However, at that point its geographical preference. Have you ever been to northern Ohio?
