You have nothing to lose but application fees.

Even if we assume URM gives a small boost to transfer apps (and we have no data to indicate that it does), chances are slim to none. You really have to be top 15% or higher to make a meaningful transfer from the T30 range.

Does URM really matter if you've already been accepted to and have attended a T25?

I don't think URM does much because the school already has their diversity numbers met at this point. Additionally, you might have some difficulties with a 30% ranking.

If you have a scholarship, stay put.

You'd probably be in at GULC, but anywhere else would be unlikely. (That's based on LS rank and class rank alone; I dunno about URM.)

If you're getting little to no $$$ at your T25, then go for it.

Even if you don't have a scholarship, stay put. You probably won't be able to make anything more than a marginal jump with your ranking (probably not even GULC). Now if you can get it closer to 15-20%, you would have a better shot at the lower end of T14.

There's no point. As a URM in the top 30 percent at a top 25 you will be able to get a firm job (or most any other job you want). I'd just do more to push myself further up in rank. How did you prepare/study fall of 1L?

I didn't understand this post. Is there a typo, or am I misreading it? (no sarcasm)

i admit it was poorly written. what i meant was that with his current rank at a top 25 school, any transfer acceptances will be a marginal jump from where he is at now. he probably has very little to no shot at GULC as he currently stands. if he gets his rank up to top 15-20% he has a shot at GULC.

Can he transfer now? I thought only UChi (obvi not gonna happen for OP) took EDs for transfer.
