H to S

I'm not unhappy at Harvard, but I have family in California (and have some health issues that make being on the other side of the country a PITA), want to practice there, and SLS was my first choice when I was applying to law school. I have 2/5 H's. Do i have a shot? Is it worth it?

Yes. That decision is one that only you can make.

I'm not sure it would be worth it. If you do well at Harvard, you should have pretty good options in California after you graduate. Just a hunch.
That said, I don't know much about the market for SLS and HLS grads.

This isn't really job-motivated, although I do need a job and wouldn't be willing to trade out of HYS. I'm not terribly worried about getting a job with median-ish grades at Harvard, although maybe I should be given all the doom and gloom that pervades this site.
Any other thoughts about how difficult it will be to transfer?

+1
See Arrow's thread to the drawbacks of transferring, and weigh it against your reasons.

SLS will still give you excellent job prospects both in California or elsewhere. If you need to be near your family, then it is probably a wise decision.
The above about weighing the drawbacks is definitely credited, though usually that is in the contexts of things like "Giving up LR and top 10% with full ride at T1 regional vs paying sticker somewhere better" or something of the sort. You are transferring between peer schools.

Not sure how difficult it would be to transfer, but you're not giving up any significant scholarships, are you?
