Top Law Schools

I am considering applying for transfer and I'm wondering if it's worth it to apply outside of my desired geographical location. I only want to work in Philly/NJ/NY, and was thinking of only applying to CN + P + Cornell. Is it really worth it to apply to schools like Chicago/Michigan/Northwestern with these goals?

For those that don't know I'm around top 3-5% (based on last year's stats) at my Philadelphia area T2.

Anyone?

That is something you need to answer on your own. Will those schools open more doors generally? yes. Will they open more doors for the specific practice you want? look inside brotha. FWIW I transfered to a school on the other side of the country from my target market (t10) and made it back for next summer so it is def possible.

I don't know enough about how NU does in NYC to say, but I would apply to Michigan and Chicago if I were you. Both schools do very well in the NYC market. Good luck, keg, and congrats again on those awesome grades so far.

Thanks for the advice Helm and Lawl Shcool . I guess if I'm going to do this, I should make a full run at it since transfer admissions are really difficult to predict anyway (and I still need to maintain my GPA for another semester, which isn't going to be easy either).

I think TITCR. I mean, plenty of people go to Michigan/Chicago for NYC and other places along the east coast in New England, so I don't see why a transfer would be different.

The main reason for transferring is typically more options at OCI. I think Chicago and UMich will provide that. Good luck keg!

I agree, however I'd definitely take CN + P over all else and I think your chances of getting at least one of those are fantastic.
