Top Law Schools

I have extensive ties to the high T2, LORs from multiple department heads, heavily involved in the community.

Top third good enough? Maybe even top half? Do they really only care about grades?

Not a lot of data on this kind of transfer so it's tough to say. The most important factor in transferring is 1L grades, so just focus on getting the highest grades possible. I would say top 10% is a safe bet.

top 10% woudln't get you into gulc anymore. check out last year's transfer stats. It was brutal.....You need middle single digits to have a shot at t14, vandy,ucla,usc
Top 1/3-25% will get you a shot at wustl/emory

I just want to transfer from 100 to 60.

I you are only interested in going from T2--> higher T2, then maybe top third is competitive. It's hard to say because T2 applicants usually try to move higher up:

Anyway, just worry about exams now. None of this matters until you have grades.

Hmm I can't say I'm surprised. The process seems to get more competitive each year.

I would guess that top 1/3 would do it, but aim for #1.

a T2 is any school ranked below CCN. Though, I have seen people classify CCN as T2. HTH.

T2 = school ranked in the 51-100 range. Schools below CCN can be T14 or T1. CCN tend to be in the T6. The numbers are confusing.

HYS (Harvard/Yale/Stanford > T6 (Top 6)> T14 (Top 14) > T1 (Top 50) > T2 (51-100) > T3 > T4 > State Accredited Schools.

Some people use other systems, but the above is most commonly used.

For all intents and purposes, national rankings don't mean too much after the top 25 or so schools, making T1, T2, T3, and T4 fairly meaningless distinctions unless comparing in-region.

I disagree. The difference between a school in the 30s and a school in the upper T2s might be "marginal"; however, the difference between a school in the 30s and a T4 like Cooley is significant. On the other hand, IMO the difference between going to a T10 to a T6 is relatively small (unless HYS).

However, I do partially agree with you. I doubt there is a real difference between a T3 or a T4 school. Or even between a school in the 80s or 90s and a T3 school.

No, Nebraska is back in the Top 100, and thus T2 again.
