Top Law Schools

Anyone know the chances of transferring from a T3 (Ohio Northern) to somewhere like Pitt Law?

I know someone who did this, she was top 5% after her first year. She's working at Reed Smith now.

Definitely possible, but you need top grades. It's the same story as always with transfers.

Look, make good grades. There's no secret calculus to transferring. Work hard. Make good grades. Understand - UNDERSTAND - that transfer cycles can be very strange. That said, since Pitt is, what?, around 60/70, I'd say you could probably - PROBABLY - get in coming from a T4 if you land in the top 10% or higher (preferably higher). You may want to have a couple options if you decide to try a transfer, but consider the importance of going to school where you want to work and also the importance of debt.

Just some general advice.

Edit to elaborate: I think of "work hard" as, basically, don't F around when everyone else is. When everyone else wants to play/drink on Wednesday night, Thursday night, Friday afternoon, work. Socializing is important, but you have two more years of law school for that (if you stay at that school, or not) as well as the rest of your life. You only have one year to make top law school grades. The lazy and stupid people are the ones who always seem so smart that they can afford not to study very much and go out drinking five nights a week. They're stupid. Appearances are often completely reversed from the truth, and the conventional wisdom is almost always wrong. Do not talk about your grades with other people. DO NOT. If you do, you're stupid. Hopefully, you will soon understand why.
