Taking the Year Off

If transfer season did not pan out the way you had hoped it would, has anyone entertained taking the year off from your original school and re-applying next year? Is this even feasible/possible?
It seems like this year was very competitive and schools rejected marginal candidates. Top 2% at T3 struggled with T20, etc.

I honestly wouldn't take a year off. I would try my best to be a visiting student at a school that had a spring 2L transfer cycle, so I could get credit for it for that school, and my home law school. (a little working the system, I guess).
If that didn't work and I honestly seriously thought I was in the wrong place, I would try studying abroad for the fall semester, and then do the spring transfer cycle.

It sounds kind of like "I'm a clueless 0L".

1. I am a rising 2L.
2. I attempted to transfer into the T14 from a T3 regional school with stats (Top 2%) comparable to students in the past who successfully transfered to Georgetown, Michigan, Northwestern, etc.
3. I am waitlisted at a T14 and denied at the others.
4. It was mentioned to me, and I was simply wondering if one could drop out of his current law school (not take any classes his/her second year) and re-apply for transfer admission Spring 2011, seeing that this was a competitive cycle.
5. Vanwinkle: BIIIIIIIIID
