Hello all,

I attend a T4 school, and in the Top 10% ( close to 8). Any suggestions to what schools might be in my reach to transfer. Realistically, I do attend a T4 school. I chose to attend this school due to illness in my family. I am regretting it now. Please feel free to let me know your suggestions.

Thank You

A little late to the game, don't you think? Unless you are a 0L that is trying to guess at transfer chances, which I'd bet you are.

Emoticons: ruining communication since 1992.

You should be able to get into something in the T50. Probably not in the T14 though..

Yeah, I mean, if you want to transfer somewhere for the fall . . . I think a few schools have 7/15 deadlines.

"I attend a T4 school, and in the Top 10%" makes it sound like you have completed a year of law school.

LOL at planning for the future. Worry about such issues if/when they present themselves to you.

As everyone else said there will plenty of time to worry about that once you get in the top 10% but before that focus on your classes and for now you should focus on relaxing a bit before the year starts.

Also I would be more sympathetic if your timing was not so horrible. You are asking at the most stressful time of the year for most students looking to transfer and honestly most won't have much sympathy for some 0L with premature transfer goals.

Now some advise: First off I would say that if you are already regretting going to the school it may be best to hold off for a year and reapply next cycle. It is conventional TLS wisdom that you should not attend a school you would not be happy graduating from and after one year in law school I highly agree with that statement. Also I would be hesitant to think you will get top 10%. My guess is that you feel this way because you got into much better law schools and settled for this one, but the truth is law school is something you really won't know if you are good at until you try it for yourself. Even after that there are still so many things which are a mystery. However, I feel that this transfer class is taking a different form from ones in the past so when all is settled the results should be interesting. It seems that top 10% at a T4 does not guarantee the upgrade it has in the past so I would aim for top 1-2% if you are committed to attending this t4 and hope you really test better than 98% of the students there.

On the off chance this kid is already in law school, Cornell's deadline is 7/15. Supposedly a very pleasant place to go to school.

Indeed sir!! Fellow posters, why don't we refer this young 0L gentleman to what is known as the Most Transfer Friendly School of all--Cornell, a truly vivacious and happy place in America's favorite college town.

Nice meeting you, dx3113. I refer you to traydeuce, and other posters on similar threads you post as a 0L, for similar beneficial advice in the future!!
