Transfering from a T4 to a T1 -> update

Hello all.

I just received my last grade of the spring semester and here is the final damage: A, B+, B, B, B. This brings my cumulative GPA up to a 3.10 from last semester's 2.93. No updated ranking yet but last semester at a 2.93 I was ranked top 27%.

I go to a school similar to Florida Coastal and want to transfer to a law school in the same city as the school I am currently attending. The school I want to transfer into is ranked 38th according to USNews 2010.

I have no idea what the cutoff is for top-20% and top-10% but I would imagine that I am at least in the top-20% after this semester.

What are everyone's thoughts on my opportunities to transfer?

I have no idea but a 3.1 sounds low to be in the top 20%. What is the median at your school?

According to NALP, median GPA at our school for 2009 grads was 2.77. Our class this year is MUCH bigger (by about 150 students) than the graduating class of 2009.

With that being said, I am not sure the exact median but 60% of 1Ls get B- or below. I guess that would place the median somewhere around 2.5-2.7?

Any more thoughts? Could I still be outside the top-20% even after improving my GPA by almost .2 points?

It just seems like that would be a tremendous jump, unless those ranked ahead of me have far higher GPA's.

try applying to Case Western. They accept a lot of transfers.

Thanks but is there anywhere on the west coast that would be transfer friendly? I would like to stay on the west coast because that is where I am going to end up practicing.
