One needs better than 'decent' grades to transfer.

I'd like to know the answer to this too, I find it hard to believe it doesn't matter.

there is no information to support this... on yahoo transferapps.
also, if there is one it's very small and not comparable to undergrad bumps.

I've looked all over yahoo transfers too, n based what I've seen I don't think there's reliable evidence to conclude anything about aa for urm transfers and whether they get a "bump" or not.

I transferred last year from a T60 in the top 25% to a T20 as an URM. URM status gives you a small bump but not even close to the bump you get as an URM applying to law schools as a 0L. That's the best answer you're gonna get really. With top 30% from a T30 school, you're probably only gonna be able to move up 5-10 spots in the rankings. Certainly not gonna crack the T14.

eman2611 wrote:I think the dearth of info simply relates to the number of URMs who decide to transfer. In short, I consider URM transfer stats to be inconclusive, rather than implicative. Generally, URMs make a very small percentage of law students; hence, further dissection by transfer leads to a very small sample. Anecdotal opinion is useless; Empirical, however unavailable, is solicited.
Do you by any chance have a BS?

URM public policy does not aim at law school "matriculation", it aims at counterbalancing "social" negatives that preclude some people from getting people the education that they would have gotten but for those social negatives.
Law school matriculation is not an accomplishment for practical purposes, law school graduation and job placement IS, so yeah I think it should logically matter just as much for transfers if not for 0Ls.
