LR and Transfer Applicants

I plan on applying to transfer, but two of the schools that I plan on applying to (Harvard and Columbia) both have write-on competitions that take place at the same time as my current LS's write-on (which I must make an "effort" on, even if I were to grade-on), and of course the competitions take place before knowing whether or not I would be admitted.
Any suggestions? With the present consensus that transfer apps will be up this year, what would be the better option...
- Just focus on current LS's write-on and not waste time on another school's competition knowing that I may not be accepted
- Try to do my current LS's and one other school's simultaneously
or
-Just focus on one of my potential transfer school's competition, ignoring my current LS's competition (missing my chance of LR if I were don't transfer)
Has anyone tried writing-on before admissions?
