Top Law Schools

Maybe this is a silly question, but I just don't know where I should go first. Do I talk to the dean? Which dean? Is this a generally awkward conversation? Do I need to go to records regarding transcrips? Basically, does anyone have good guidelines or plan regarding the whole process?
