Me! Assuming I don't get into any of my reaches, it's looking like my decision will be between W&M with a hefty scholly and Fordham with who knows what money at this point.

There's a very good chance I'm in....I'm still waiting to hear back from one last school before I decide 100% for sure. Can fence sitters join this thread?

I'm in--they're the only one I've gotten into so far. Getting waitlisted at ND and held at Illinois doesn't bode well for my chances at higher tier law schools, so it's looking increasingly likely that I'll go to William and Mary.

I'm in at WM. Also got in at Ohio State and my safety (DePaul). I have a couple of reach schools that I'm waiting to hear from but I am leaning towards WM, especially over any other T30/T20's

Just got my acceptance today. Still waiting to hear from 20 other schools, but WM is a viable option.

I saw the status checker updated to "Congratulations! Acceptance letter sent", then I got the package in the mail, and the email was the last to arrive.

i'm very much considering WM - i wish they had more than one admitted student day! two of my top choices - WM and BC, each only have one and it is the same day... major bummer.

I had the same thing. Check under "Mailings". Mine said "Congratulations. Admit Packet in the Mail" or something like that.

My status just changed from "Under Review" to "Decision Pending." Does anyone know what that means?

Mine says the same. Did anyone who actually got accepted ever go through the "Decision Pending" phase?

I have heard that it is difficult, but also that it actually depends on institution in question. Apparantly its harder to gain residency at UVA than other VA state schools since UVA is independent from the state.

Not sure if anybody can verify that or how hard it would be to get instate at W&M. 21k a year with a low CoL ($500/month for graduate housing?!) makes W&M a very attractive option.

I'm in and very excited - this is my top pick school ---didn't have strongest #'s in the world, but some solid and unusual softs.

I'm in! I applied on 1/7 and status checker changed to Congrats under mailings on 1/29. They sent a nice scholarship offer a few days later via snail mail. Congrats to everyone else, I'm still waiting to hear from other places but this is the top of my list.

In - Class of '13, yeah! My LSAT was not very high -162, but I had a 3.94 GPA and awesome softs and I got only 6K per year, kind of disappointed considering I am working full time and making very good money if I am not going to law school. I have to maintain 2.0 to keep scholly. I read a guy with 167/3.4 got 20K a year, and he is in-state.. I wish I could increase the scholly to a kind that requires 3.0 TO keep if i could get a bit more money. They obviously do not believe I can make 3.0. Even considering that .1 GPA usually equals 1 point LSAT they are obviously preferring LSAT. And sure enough admissions are maintaining the principles of Stonewall Jackson when it comes to aid negotiation. I do not know though, I have a good job, making good money, thinking about taking 3 more tries at LSAT and moving towards class of '14 game...Call me stupid but I just feel unrespected and disappointed -even though maybe I should be just happy I got in.

Have you thought about talking to them about upping your offer, or is that not kosher??

It is kosher to me, I spoke to the dean and wrote a 500 word essay on why they should consider upping the offer and they told me that my request has been reviewed and no additional scholarship funds were identified. I also applied for a specific fellowship program with an essay and have not heard anything yet ("fellows should be decided by march 1st..."). She softened the blow by saying that scholarships/fellowships will continue to be distributed throughout the summer as people withdraw, but with my lsat score I am not holding my breath.

At the same time, the other day they had a 2L student call me at 8 PM on my cell and inquire if I had any questions (my offer is like 45 days old at this point, which is probably why).

I heard that W&M's biggest scholarships are half-tuition, but I also heard of in-state people with 3.4/167 getting 20K a year (out of 22K in-state tuition). So if 15 incoming students out of 220 get half tuition and thats all downhill from there, I do not feel too bad, but if they give 90% tuition to a dude with 3.4/167 and take a hard stand against a dude with 3.94/162, then I kind of feel bad because these numbers are really equivalent overall.

I would disagree. GPA's are vary greatly depending on the difficulty of the school, the major, the courses, etc. There is a reason why most law schools give much more weight to the LSAT score; it is the closest thing they can get to an unbiased comparison between students.
