That's only for Weyburn. I think they were wondering about on-campus parking (which opened on June .

Ahhh thanks. Yes, I was asking about Weyburn. There had been some talk about the application opening in June but I guess that wasn't for Weyburn. Mixed messages haha.weee wrote:http://uclahousing.custhelp.com/cgi-bin ... _topview=1Slansky wrote:I guess I'll ask the parking question at the reception Monday... it's still confusing me. =/

How does AT&T work around the UCLA campus?
I already have ATT, but I'm thinking of signing a new contract to get the new iphone.
Anyone?

Any UCLA 0L's currently in the bay area (San Francisco et al.)? I'm terribly sick of alternating between going to the gym and going to the mall and even sicker of hearing everyone bitch about how they don't have jobs. If so, PM me and maybe we can get a group of peeps together for drinks or whatnot.

Weyburn people: any idea when they tell us our roommates/exact assignments? It's less than a month until my move-in date now and I would like to be able to contact my roommate soon....

I'd bet it won't be until after the deadline of the 14th, assuming they organize and match those who accept housing offers using a "best possible fit" methodology (rather than a chronological one).

Ah, there is a deadline this month? I thought they were all passed already. That makes sense. Still kind of late to tell us, though.evanxlee wrote:Slansky wrote:Weyburn people: any idea when they tell us our roommates/exact assignments? Yeah, pretty late, but I for one need every day until the deadline before I can hand over that first $1100, so I'll accept the condensed schedule. If you're on facebook (I'll assume so), join the UCLA Law 2013 group, there are a few gems of knowledge there in the "discussions" section!Slansky wrote: Ah, there is a deadline this month? Yeah. next tuition payment is somewhere around August 20th, where we pay the balance (I think).

Doea anyone know anything about the Sherman Oaks area. I am a nontrad with kids and I am looking to buy a place, not rent. The realtor sent me some listings there.
How long is the drive? How is the neighborhood?

I'm not from LA, but I know a lot of people from Sherman Oaks. Really nice, middle-class, suburban area, good place to raise your kids.

Neighborhood is fine, one of the nicer parts of the valley.MURPH wrote:Doea anyone know anything about the Sherman Oaks area. I am a nontrad with kids and I am looking to buy a place, not rent. The realtor sent me some listings there.

Commute is 10 minutes without traffic, up to 45 with traffic. Not exaggerating. You'll become intimately familiar with the 405 freeway.
Of the UCLA-adjacent living options, I'd say Sherman Oaks is one of the best for a family.

Has anyone successfully spoken to the financial aid office lately? I keep getting their voicemail when I call.

Email them - I always get a response within a day. After trying to call UCLA housing services a couple months ago with no avail, I've learned that no one at UCLA likes to pick up their phones.mmmadeli wrote:Has anyone successfully spoken to the financial aid office lately? Yeah, I guess I will. I haven't had trouble with housing, but Fin Aid is driving me nuts.jay115 wrote:Email them - I always get a response within a day. Re: UCLA Law Class of 2013
Hey, I have another question about housing. So perhaps I'm a moron (possible!) and if no one here knows I'll call them tomorrow, but I just happened to notice on the Weyburn rates chart that the law contract dates are June-May. So does that mean that those of us who have move-in dates of August 1 are actually signing 10-month contracts for Aug-May, with two months pro-rated off, and aren't locked into any housing contract for 1L summer? Because if so...that's actually really awesome.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
