I guess we should have a thread of our own! I can't wait for August.

Here is a question: will we have an assignment due on the first day of orientation?

I think we will. I looked at the booklist from last year and they did.

I want my tuition bill and booklist already!

Last year we had to read a book about a refugee and his legal trials and tribulations. It was pretty good, but it's not like there was any real need to know it right then at orientation. They had the author come and speak to us, and that was kind of boring because he just reiterated what we had read in the book, but then there was a Q&A. We did discuss the book in other classes, though -- I think it came up in Civ Pro and maybe Legal Writing. It was a good book, and a good way to get started.

People seem to be scattered all over. Some on campus, some all around Queens, Brooklyn, Long Island.

So can anyone explain to me how this financial aid thing works? Do we pay for an extension till after our loans are disbursed? Our tuition seems to be due the 19th, but I still haven't even gotten anything in the mail about it. UIS is down for maintenance which is frustrating because I can't look at my bill or the options... Last time I was able to check, my loan status was still "accepted sent for processing" even though I filled out all the paperwork in early may >.<;;

Hey everyone...

make sure to confirm your enrollment on UIS. I didn't get any info from st john's saying I needed to do this in order to receive my official schedule in the mail etc, glad I figured it out. Also, I ordered most of my books used on amazon which saved me a ton of money from what is listed on the bookstore prices. So excited to start in a month!

Thanks for the heads up. Looks like we have to have $0 due on our accounts to confirm enrollment, and I have my housing left to pay. I hope they still send me stuff in the mail

I'm so excited for orientation. Hopefully today my torts casebook will arrive and then I will be all set.

Do we have anything to do before orientation other than the "first assignment" for intro to law??
