Wouldn't mind a few people tagging along that night and hanging out. She is pretty laid back so she won't care, and we'll be together all weekend anyways. I'm looking forward to meeting some WUSTL peeps.
It is meant to be....I am open that weekend baby! *awkward silence as everyone stares at the 2L in the room*
Awesome. I didn't know you got in.
I'm moving in Aug. 1, although I'm going to be very poor after this road trip.

which is the better city? dallas or houston?
From Texas here too, Houston.
Anybody looked into Cable/Satellite/Internet options yet? I've had bad experiences with satellite mostly due to the amount of rain we have in Houston so it goes out all the time. I was leaning towards cable, but I did a search of Charter Cable Reviews and found this -
http://www.rateitall.com/i-25512-charte ... tions.aspx. So after reading one terrible review after another I started looking into At&t U-Verse. Seems cheaper than the cable packages too.
Anyone from the St. Louis area have any suggestions of the best way to go? Or if anyone else has looked into it yet, what have you found? Only thing that keeps me from settling on At&t is I've read mixed reviews of the internet speeds, and since I'll probably be using that a lot more than my tv the first year I want it to work well. I'm sure at least during football season I'll make use of my cable though.

i wouldn't put much stock in those ratings. they rate all cable companies badly. comcast, time warner cable (which i use), and cox cable are all rated either 1.x or 2.x. too. time warner cable i know has it's problems at times but it's tolerable and i'm sure charter will be the same way...not great but tolerable. charter is what i'll be using.

ask anyone to rate any cable company and they will say that the company is shit. that's just the nature of the beast.
if you're in st. louis, charter is likely your provider. I used them for 5 years or so when I was in st. louis and their service is comparable to any other major provider.

Texas here!
If you're from Dallas, you hate Houston and if you're from Houston, you hate Dallas.
It really doesn't matter though because we all know Austin is the best

So true... No matter where you live in Texas you always hear people saying how they would rather live in Austin. Myself included.

haha...funny.
one of my co-workers actually said he has family members who live in austin and they don't like it very much. i wonder if it's the case of them not liking life in a college town. for instance i would never want to go back and live in chapel hill, though i think for me part of it is that i'd rather not continue to live some place where i went to school.

the women are definitely. at least in looks. all the wanna be hot girls come here hoping to be a model or an actress. but most of them are arrogant, selfish, and materialistic. but its nice eye candy.
that and the weather is unbeatable. except the fact that the ground shakes once in a while and tries to swallow you.

I met a kid on the metro who was a freshman at SLU there for orientation and I told him I was from San Diego and the first thing he said was "oh shit you guys got tons of legal weed!" I said yes, yes we do.

Austin is one of the best places to live in the country. I live here now and aim to return to work here.
But if I were forced to choose, probably Dallas.

I'm from Dallas originally, spent four years in Austin at UT and love both places. Glad to know there are so many Texans moving to St. Louis!
