It's always good to see a friendly face on the first day of school =)
This is for OLs entering Hastings in August 2010 to ask questions and exchange information on accommodation, classes, profs, books, prep, and other good-to-knows. Maybe even for setting up chats over coffee. Hopefully, it'll mean knowing a couple of folks before school starts.

Hmm ... neither of those facebook groups can be found from a facebook search. I suspect the permissions are too restrictive?

Did anyone else go to the ASD today?

Yep I was there.

I was there and made my decision to go to hastings.

Yeah, I thought they did a great job. I'm seriously considering Hastings.

is it a big deal to not go to ASD? ive already toured the school and am 99% sure hastings will be my choice. but i feel bad not going....

since most of the information Hastings put out at ASD can be acquired on this board, and since you already visited, the only benefit you would be missing out on is meeting a few of your fellow classmates ahead of time. So I don't think it's a big deal especially in your case .. I haven't visited yet either but that's just the overall gist I got from the folks that have done so in March (calgal17 put up some useful information in the other Hastings thread).

How did they keep you all updated. I submitted my app in February and I have not received anything but my initial confirmation.

No notification, just had a thin envelope show up, which was utterly depressing until I saw the "Congratulations!"

anyone else bitter about the now-sizable gap between davis and hastings?

I was a little worried until I visited the school. I don't think the new ranking reflects what Hastings has to offer. Also, they didn't drop too much. If you look at the ranking, there is no 39th spot, which is where hastings was last year. So, imo they are in the same spot they were just a year ago.
