I see you're ED; it all makes sense now.

I am not positive, but I would definitely be happy in Richmond. Is John Marshall invite only?

I don't think so. It was mentioned in my acceptance letter and a subsequent e-mail.

Anyone receive a letter from the Student Bar Association Orientation Committee? I got one today asking me to give UR "serious consideration" but I haven't received any word yet about my app status. Are they sending this to all applicants?

I have been accepted and did not receive this.

I got it a few days before I was accepted by phone, but it could have just been coincidental.

Just got a mailing about their IP program. Looks pretty interesting and like something I would like to be involved in.
Traveling up to tour on March 18. Let me know if anyone else will be there too.

I was invited before I got my acceptance phone call and she urged me to apply in my acceptance phone call today as well. What do you guys think about Richmond the town? They seem really nice at the law school, like they actually care about their students.

I liked the town. I used to drive up from Virginia Beach to go to shows or go shopping on weekends. Cost of living is pretty low for the area.

I went to VCU in Richmond for my undergrad, and was accepted at U of R last week. The two schools couldn't be anymore different, but I love Richmond (the city) and want to live there again.
U of R is in a more residential, suburban area of Richmond. The campus and the area are both very beautiful. If you are more the city type, I'd recommend living somewhere like the Fan or off of Monument Blvd. Those areas offer more to do and see, especially in terms of restaurants and nightlife.
As far as cost of living goes, I'm from D.C. so anything seems reasonable to me! There is a glut of student rentals on the market, so finding an apartment isn't too hard. I would recommend, however, asking around a bit before renting from any property management company. There are a few notoriously bad ones, and I've had to weather my fair share of heat-less winters and A.C.-less summers.

Got accepted through a missed phone call/text message from the dean. I'm very interested in this school, and hearing back from them about what kind of scholarship dollars they want to offer me will probably push me toward a decision. Dean Rahman said they'd be following up in the next few weeks about that.

The dean texted you!? That is kinda awesome. I have received spam from Richmond in my mail box seriously every day for the last week and a half......now if only they would send me a decision.......

I received a missed phone call and text from Dean Rahman as well. She didn't call until 9:30 at night and then I didn't know whether to text back or not. I wasn't sure of text message etiquette when it comes to law school deans lol. So I texted back the next morning and she called me about an hour later saying how she liked texting so much better than phone tag.
I'm anxiously awaiting scholarship info as well. I really like Richmond and a little help would really solidify my decision.

Does anyone know when admission decisions are sent out for Richmond? I keep receiving postcards and brochures, but no admissions decision.

I just got admitted to Richmond Law. Stats: 3.2/156. Got a call from Dean Rahman which was a nice touch. Wasn't told anything about scholarship though, does that come via mail? Are there scholarships available? And why is there so little movement on TLS Richmond Law?
Also, does anyone have an idea on its environmental program, IP program and job prospects? I know these are a lot of questions, but any help is much appreciated!
Thanks.

When I called admission they told me that merit Scholly $$ will be announced the last week of March for everybody. You do not need to submit any additional info, every admitted student is considered based on LSAT/ GPA. They were super nice at admissions and happy to answer any of my questions. I will be visiting 3/36 (you can schedule a one on one tour, Richmond has by far been the most personal experience I've had...we shall see how much that means when they annouce scholarships...)
