I appreciate it, but I'm not expecting any merit aid with my numbers.Veritas wrote:+1mizzoutigers88 wrote:I'm really interested in going here. However, I will probably have to pay sticker.

I emailed today about merit aid, I'll keep you updated on what I hear.
thanks Veritas, I'm interested too. Can you post or pm me what you find out?mizzoutigers88 wrote:I appreciate it, but I'm not expecting any merit aid with my numbers.Veritas wrote:+1mizzoutigers88 wrote:I'm really interested in going here. However, I will probably have to pay sticker.

Damn...Veritas wrote:I received an email back this morning.
It pretty much stated that if you didn't receive merit aid in your acceptance packet then you should plan your financial aid without the expectation of receiving any merit aid. She did say that they may make some additional awards as the people who have money decline, etc...She went on to discuss need-based aid and loans. I think the max you can receive in need-based is $15,000. So, even maxing that leaves you with a hefty price tag.
Kind of disappointing.
Just a personal opinion, but if you want to end up in DC then choosing Gtown at sticker over GW with a 6-figure scholarship is crazy. DC employment opportunities between the two schools are not that different. Outside of DC it might be a different story, but even then I would probably take the money.umichgrad wrote:I'm not surprised. I think this requires some reading between the lines: they can't say "yes, there's plenty of money floating around and all of your packages are forthcoming". Additionally, many many of the people who receive large amounts (like the $120,000 deal) are 170-171s who will likely take a gtown or a cornell later in the cycle. That leaves their 120,000 to be distributed among two or three people at 30-90 K each.
So, based on conjecture and lsn profiles, i'm pretty sure at least some people will receive at least some merit aid closer to the spring.
thanks for asking, veritas!!

Same offer, no SO. Anyone know if they allow cats?kumba84 wrote:I got my acceptance letter and scholly yesterday, and I was offered the first-year housing deal. Only problem is, I'm married, so I wouldn't be taking that. I wonder if they would offer me something else instead?
I'm not married but plan on living with my SO. I'm interested in hearing if they have other stuff available too.kumba84 wrote:I got my acceptance letter and scholly yesterday, and I was offered the first-year housing deal.
