Does anyone have thoughts on an offer from CWT? Part of me thinks that they have trimmed the fat and most likely will not over-hire this summer (correlation to high offer rate?). But part of me is still extremely worried about accepting an offer from them. Should I take their reputational hit into account? What if my only other offer is a non-V100 firm?
Any thoughts or info would be greatly appreciated.

Depends on what the other firm is and how it is doing ITE. I've heard that CWT was known for capital markets work (which no longer exists), it was essentially the only thing that separated them from other, average/below average, big law shops. ITE I don't know anything other than that CWT has been hit hard and the work that they excelled in no longer exists and probably is not coming back for a while (if ever).

CWT was a notoriously miserable place to work - and upfront about that fact - even during the good years. Now, they probably can't grind you for a gazillion billables because the work they did does not exist, but the people probably haven't gotten any nicer.
There are also stability concerns that go with something that was an overt money-driven shark tank even by NY standards.
