I'm trying to figure out my callback schedule. How many callbacks are people attending?

ITE do as many as you can until you have an offer.

Last year, I stopped scheduling callbacks after 10 (was offered 26 callbacks), as I figured 10 was more than enough. In the end, this was too many -- though ITE I agree that I'd do every one I could.

Who knows, this year 26 may not even be enough!

Clearly this is not the year to be turning down callbacks without good reason. Still, I wonder how many callbacks we need to get/take before we can feel safe that we'll land an offer...

Got my first offer today, turned down 6 callbacks. Still going to do 14 or so total by the time I'm done.

Only cancel the ones where you're sure you wouldn't want to work if they gave you an offer. Presumably, so long as you don't have any offer, that means no cancellations at all. Once you have an offer you can decide to cross those firms off your list that you are sure you would not choose over the offer you have in hand.

I think the general idea is to schedule your top choices first, so if you get an offer there, you can cancel less desirable ones. Of course, that's risky this year unless you have a lot.
