worth it to get an internship at this point?

i'm going to enter law school in fall of 2010. my letters of rec are good to go, so i don't need an internship for that purpose... but there's a good chance i will be offered an internship at a small law office in the suburbs for this fall and possibly beyond. it is unpaid, but it being a small office i imagine i would get to know the attorneys there very well, possibly leading to lors in the future when it comes time to interview for Real Jobs. also, it being a small office, i imagine i would get to do more than just fetch coffee, etc... though i'm not certain.

would it be worth it to pursue this? i mean, would employers at the oci stage care that i had worked in a law office the year before starting ls, or will that end up being fairly irrelevant? the other alternative is to teach for kaplan, which actually pays something...

Other than when you get to ls, I would be against anything handing out my services for free. Unless this would be your "dream firm", I'd pass.
