Does anyone have insight on Keker Van Nest in SF? Looking for information on the following:

- How difficult it is to secure employment there. I am a 1L at a school I know they recruit from (HYS) and interested in a 2L summer associate position.

- What is the work-life balance? I have heard anecdotally that it is better than other Big Law.

- How is it perceived in other markets? I don't know if I want to be in SF forever and I know they don't have offices elsewhere.

Also looking at Munger SF. If anyone else knows of similar litigation-oriented CA firms please let me know

It's not easy to get an offer there as its a boutique and they value culture fit a lot. I also heard it is better than traditional biglaw but what makes it a nice place to work are the people. Keker probably doesn't have the same national recognition as other boutiques but if you do stay in SF, I am not sure if there's any better.

Lieff Cabraser is another good litigation firm but I believe they do mostly plaintiffs work and pay quite a bit below the usual biglaw salaries.
