Non-Traditional Clerkship Exits?

Any stories from people who finished a clerkship and ended up being employed somewhere *other* than a law firm or government? (Bonus points if the person had only previously worked at law firms or in government.) Interested in hearing about exits to business-side, landing in-house, doing policy work, entrepreneurial turns (starting one's own firm?), or even more dramatic career pivots.

Want to just hear that it's possible, because while you're a clerk, something like this feels highly discouraged.

I've seen DE Chancery clerks go straight into consulting or I banking, but I can't imagine a regular Article III clerk having anything other than awesome legal skills to offer. Also, unless the clerk has previous lit experience, companies would hesitate to hire a clerk as in-house counsel. Probably not what you'd want to hear.
