Has anyone been rejected at the interview stage and re-applied again successfully a year or so later?

Actually made it to an interview with different partners this time around. Big litigation outfit. Wondering how and if you got over the awkwardness of it all (and I bombed the interview last year--Two partners were constantly checking phone and frustrated about something so maybe they had a bad day?).

I got a lateral offer at a firm that I was rejected from after an SA callback. Especially in biglaw, needs can change. In my case, I went from a generic SA candidate to a mid-level associate with an actual skillset, so the marketability dynamic was very different.
Anyhow, I wouldn't take it personally if the partners were distracted during the interview. They were probably in the middle of a fire drill they would have rather been attending to instead of doing an interview. It doesn't mean they specifically disliked you. If it doesn't work out, I doubt there was anything so special about this firm/office that you can't get at another shop.

I got rejected from screener during OCI - landed an offer at the same V10 during 3L.
It’s all business and if you get an interview you have a shot. Nothing to be embarrassed or awkward about, sell yourself and put your best foot forward - you can land the offer.
