In-person vs. virtual interview

I am interviewing at a firm and they set me up with virtual interviews rather than in-person interviews. Have folks noticed that there is a discernible difference between the two formats as far as likelihood of getting an offer? Wondering if I should ask to do the interviews in person even though they seem like they prefer virtual.

I mean, if they want to do it virtually, don’t ask to change that. They have reasons for preferring virtual (good or bad) and rocking the boat as a candidate is going to hurt you more than being in person will help you.

There’s no clear advantage to one over the other. There’s maybe some argument that a virtual interview is a little harder to impress/make a connection in than an in-person one, but if all candidates are being interviewed the same way it’s a wash.

If they offered you a choice, I might pick in person if it’s not going to be a huge burden to do so. But if it’s already arranged I wouldn’t ask to change it.
