Recieved an offer to join KE, Weil, Sidley--all BOS/NYC/DC. Don't want to say too much about the practice group to out myself, but all are some form of lit (not white collar/investigations). Curious for feedback from all regarding prestige of the firms, partnership prospects, and benefits (like above market bonus, etc). KE is the highest of all these on the Vault list, but Weil isn't far off. If I did Sidley or Weil, would I be "downgrading" in any possible way? KE has sharp elbows and a bit of a negative rep, but it's the highest ranked of the firms.

Given the rate that "partnerships" have significantly degraded over the past decade, the fact that such degradation doesn't look to be stopping, the fact that you're in lit (a hard practice to make equity), and the fact that you won't be up for equity for another decade (sounds like you're a law student), you can just assume that you'll never make partner and go wherever gives you good vibes. You'll probably lateral at least once anyway.

You're too old to be worried about "rankings"
