Do WLB and the quality and breadth of exit opps differ by practice area in biglaw litigation?

Re: WLB - yes, but with the caveat that it's probably more of a firm-by-firm thing. For instance, at my firm the IP litigation group is one of the busiest of all, but I have some friends at other firms in that practice area who have a great WLB.

Re: exit options - again somewhat firm dependent. Some firms have pipelines to local US attorney or state AG offices, particular clients, etc. In general in-house general lit roles are harder to find, so finding a specialty (especially those that are regulatory adjacent) might help.

You might get more specific advice if you identify particular cities/firms/practice groups.

If you're casting such a wide net for this question I would just start networking with people at all the relevant firms, which is a good idea anyway
