Does anyone have experience negotiating a bonus clawback? I am noping out after only one year but have a two year clawback (not prorated). I am prepared to pay it back, but has anyone negotiated partial payment? 50k bonus

Are you lateralling to another firm or going in-house? If in-house, there's a decent chance the firm doesn't try to clawback. But also a 2-year clawback is pretty harsh so I wouldn't be surprised if a firm with a 2-year clawback comes for it regardless. You can also try to ask the new employer for an equivalent signing bonus, if that ship hasn't sailed.

Thanks, I’m going to the government, so I’m not sure which way that cuts. We’ll see!

Particularly since not going to a competitor, I wouldn’t bring it up and just leave. Doubt they come after you for it.
