Hello hello,

1. Am I a moron for not applying anywhere pre-OCI?
2. If my goal is to jump ship to govt in a few years which firms would position me well?
3. What firms do I have a realistic shot at for litigation in NY/DC? Me: HYS, law review, approx 1/3 Hs (idk where that puts me in the class), few years of relevant work experience, not URM.

I assume this is not Yale, but if it is, you're basically competitive everywhere.

He said law review, not law journal, so it's probably H.

Yes, not Yale. Which are the best firms where I’d be reasonably competitive then?

You're median-ish at H/S, you should be blanketing all the firms you'd be willing to work and and then you can decide which is "best". It's a pretty short list of firms where you wouldn't be competitive, and even those are worth a flyer IMO. Would also be looking hard at clerking.

I’d apply. Even being HYS you want to give yourself the best opportunity. OCI has essentially moved to pre-OCI.

My firm has already made offers to 20 applicants from one T6. So things are moving.
