Going to be pretty vague here, but the short of it is my Biglaw firm didn’t give me a clerkship bonus and also doesn’t credit the time I spent clerking (as in treats me like I’m a class year lower than I actually am). Is it wrong for me to be pissed? It was an Art. III clerkship.
Well, that's just not market... I would also be pretty pissed, but there are layoffs happening. If you're not happy, maybe you can shop around and get a competing offer with clerkship bonus and seniority credit.

Yeah I'd probably be pissed if they did this on purpose. That being said, before you go "pissed" mode I'd first attempt to make sure this isn't like an oversight or anything.

Thanks for the response! Already confirmed it’s not an oversight. I initially assumed it was.

I this a V20 firm or is this maybe a firm that is potentially on the rocks. This is quite a weird thing to do...

OP here. Judging by the quick responses, I don’t think I’m overreacting. Still, I’m not going to out the firm. Thanks, all, I have what I need.

Are you in litigation (where an Article III judicial clerkship experience is most valuable) or are you in a transactional practice area such as corporate where a judicial clerkship has less value to your firm ?

Litigation. We frequently have cases in the district where I clerked.

This is very strange. Most firms have a pretty clear policy, and it should have been in your offer letter.

In fairness, it's also very strange not to have noticed that the salary was wrong in the offer letter.

Thanks. There’s additional context here I’ve left out for anon reasons (not anything that really impacts the main analysis, just some background on how/why it was a fairly informal post-clerkship hiring process). Appreciate the input, all.
