Just trying to get everyone’s thoughts on working in Charlotte doing transactional type work for Mayer Brown v MVA v A&B from anyone who knows and has worked in the field in Charlotte.

I work at one of the three. Transactional doesn't really narrow it down, as there are several transactional (i.e., non-lit) specialties. Most of Charlotte leans heavily towards financial services practices if that's what you're looking for. MVA is HQed in Charlotte and has a wider range of practice areas in the office (M&A, CRE, IP, lit, tax, etc). MB and A&B will lean heavier towards finance (though A&B has some IP and a small M&A team in CLT). Hours are probably roughly equal across firms, though finance practices tend to be higher billing. A&B and MB pay market, MVA is below. MVA and MB are both uptown, A&B moved to south end. All three are respected firms--I'd go where you like the practice/people the most. If you're in the relevant practice areas, you can most likely lateral between the three at a later date.
