I'm not at GDC currently, but was in ~2020-2022. As far as I knew, there was no crypto policy, and I owned crypto during my time there. There was a stock trading policy; I'm not sure if it formally prohibited individual stock ownership or just made it difficult, but regardless I stayed away from individual stocks and only invested in mutual funds.

Every firm will have a restricted stock trade list for firm clients. A ban or pre clearance on crypto would be unusual because it doesn't implicate insider information in the same way. I could see it perhaps if the firm has advised on an ICO or represents a coin with a backing from a specific exchange or other entity they represent.

Yeah. The firms I'm familiar with, at least one of which has very strict rules for public-company stock, basically say "we strongly recommend against trading crypto, but it doesn't violate the current version of our policy."
