Debating between DPW and Cleary, both for NY corporate. Clicked with the people at both so finding it hard to choose. Would love any info on hours, culture, diversity, anything else relevant. Thanks!

Cleary for corporate antitrust. DPW for anything else. Neither is all that great for M&A, although DPW is obviously strong across most major practice groups.

Both are fine firms and no one's going to bat an eye for choosing one over the other; go with fit.

Hard to beat the breadth and quality of the DPW capital markets practice. Only Latham and STB come close.
Cleary M&A will trend more international. Not sure about amount of deals or volume. You might want to check past M&A league tables for that info. Chambers has DPW ranked higher in M&A but not sure it’s a big difference (if at all) in actuality.
Not sure either are big players in funds but you’d want to check chambers for that.

This should be seen as a strong negative IMO.

100% agree. Never seen anyone in actual practice prefer international deals (but I'm sure they exist).

Isn’t this distaste for international typically about time zones? Cleary seems to have a really strong LatAm practice, so to the extent that’s the draw, I don’t think it’d as terrible as doing deals from Singapore.

Still involves local counsel of varying quality and a bunch of weird formalities.
