Sorry if this has been covered before, but is there any data on Connecticut Biglaw pay scales? I’m finding surprisingly little.

I don't remember the exact number but I remember being told about it by someone who worked at a CT "biglaw" firm and I remember being surprised by how significant the drop was. Hopefully someone can provide an actual number, but I know that it is a lot less than typical biglaw market.

Most of the CT firms (Day Pitney, Robinson etc.) start at either 150k or 175k. They do not pay anywhere close to market.

OP here. That’s disappointing, and honestly a bit surprising. Those are like Omaha or Kansas City numbers. CT is a pretty high COL area—any idea what the deal is?

MLB and Akin have offices in Hartford. Pretty sure both of those firms pay market in all US offices. In southern Connecticut I know of a Holland & Knight office—they start at Cravath but are black box I believe.

This is encouraging. Seems like the better play would be to target national firms with CT regional offices, rather than target CT firms. Thank you.
