Can anyone please speak on their experience working with Debevoise’s Capital markets team?

Worked there. Great team. I liked. Went somewhere else, but was unrelated to the team. Still have friends there. Its what you would expect of cap markets, rote. But people are nice and generally understanding and take the time to teach you.

Nice people but not a premiere capital markets practice or a growth area for the firm. It’s a service group with very few mids / seniors and is very partner heavy so limited upward trajectory if you care about making partner.

Mind elaborating on what a service group means? Curious as to why there is limited upward trajectory moreso than other corporate groups, thanks!

Means a lot of their work is related to answering questions or doing work for other groups (i.e., M&A and funds). Top CapM practices like DPW and LW are more focused on actual issuances as opposed to answering whether a Form 13G needs to be filed or whether a certain investor would cause 34/40 Act threshold to be exceeded.
