I've finished some business books on finance (Barbarians at the Gate, Den of Thieves, The Caesar Palace Coup, Predator's Ball, etc.) and now I'm looking to read about the legal world of Wall Street.

For the moment, I've come up with (based on recommendations):
- Gods at War by Davidoff
- Tombstones by Lederman
- Skadden by Caplan
- The Partners by Stewart
- White Shoe by Oller

Any other titles that you would recommend besides those listed?

Not directly on-point but Too Big to Fail should be on any wall-street based reading list. IIRC some big firms make an appearance.

Servants of the Damned by David Enrich--not really Wall Street but details Jones Day's representation of Trump.

He also wrote Dark Towers, which is about Deutsche Bank and it's entanglement with Trump.

Did that involve below:

New Jersey law permits a company a maximum of three casino licenses. Trump wanted to do a hostile deal for Bally's.

Trump owned 9.9% of Bally's

What to do? Bally's announced plans to buy the Golden Nugget, so if Trump bought Bally's, it would send him over the 3 casino limit.

He actually filed a motion to try to prevent Bally's from buying Golden Nugget.

There are a few great cases about what Riklis was doing, long before Milken, with junk bonds.

"In the wake of WWII, Riklis (Riviera Hotel Casino Vegas) arrived in the US as a penniless immigrant. He combined an instinct for deep value situations with a talent for convincing aging founders that he was the right person to sell to. A creative financier, he figured out a formula for “effective use of non-cash,” or using as much as leverage as he could to expand his empire."

Mirage Vegas was financed by Milken's junk bonds. Wynn considered Mike a genius.

Also a few interesting published cases involving Central States Pension Fund v Golden Nugget where Wynn did some interesting deals with Stardust bonds, after the Nevada Gaming Commis told the pension fund to sell and get out of Vegas.

"Lions in the Street" (Hoffman, 1973) is an older take, but worth a look. Talks about law firms procuring sex workers for clients, which I hadn't heard of before (or since).

"Lions in the Street" (Hoffman, 1973) is an older take, but worth a look. Talks about law firms procuring sex workers for clients, which I hadn't heard of before (or since).

Seconding this. Worth a read to get a sense of how much hasn’t changed in a half century. And yes, maybe sex worker procurement doesn’t happen now, but Kirkland in China (Hong Kong?) at least came close to that.

The Oller book has an interesting premise but unfortunately it’s pretty dull.
