For general corporate in NY, would it be stupid to choose Willkie over Weil or Simpson? Heard great things about Willkie's culture, and it seems like Willkie is also a fairly strong player in ny corporate (although not on par with stb and weil).

If interested in PE M&A/funds, I’d go with STB. If any other corporate, maybe Weil can make sense. Willkie will work you just as hard, and “culture” is all team-dependent (so you are essentially rolling a dice) so I would rule them out if these are your three choices.
Both STB and Weil are super intense, but working across from both of them and talking to friends in both, I get the sense STB folks are marginally happier than folks in Weil. But this is anecdotal so take it with a grain of salt.

STB M&A is miserable. Great group to work in on paper and for your resume or collecting gold stars or whatever, but don't get it twisted that it may be more pleasant than literally any other firm other than Wachtell. Can't speak to the other groups there but apples tend to not fall far from the engine that drives the machine.
That said, I'd probably still choose STB for certain career goals. Enjoying life or finding somewhere that's tolerable? Nah.
