Racism in crypto hiring

Has anyone been applying to crypto legal jobs and noticing the strong preferences for white males / females (with mediocre credentials) and how legal teams of these crypto platforms are white people with weak credentials, relatively?

See for example:
Candy Digital
DyDx
PUBLIC (aside from CLO, weak legal team)
Lukka
Reddit X

There are others but those are the ones I've encountered. Seems like black / brown lawyers are pretty much boxed out of crypto / web 3 legal. But would love to hear other's experiences.

First of all, you should not form conclusions about lawyers in the wild based on their academic accomplishments. This isn't law review.

To your point, can't really say these companies have a preference for whites without knowing what the applicant pool looks like.

You can also tell from their law firm experience prior to the hire. Weak all around. Secondly, well, we will never know the applicant pool. But we do know the hires, and they're overwhelmingly white males and females with average backgrounds. No wonder there is so much negligence in crypto -- the teams themselves are underqualified.

Good lawyers with options need not go into a scam industry that is on the long slow road to implosion

It's not surprising that the people there have mediocre credentials

Second the notion that raced-based bias in hiring may result in lower quality legal advice

On the one hand, this is a weird post (as someone already said, why would people with top qualifications want these jobs? And why are people from lesser schools more likely to be negligent than luminaries from the T14?).

On the other hand, why would crypto companies be any different from the legal profession generally?

This has been noticeable for at least a few years...
