I’m thinking about lateraling in. Is it still hot, or dead?

I I think it's generally pretty slow, for obvious reasons (both on the securities side and the bank debt side). That being said, I also know a handful of associates who are slammed, so I guess it'll depend on certain firms/groups. It can't hurt to speak to a couple of recruiters (I get at least half a dozen emails a week) and see what they think. Good luck.

Extremely mixed bag. Debt markets are slow but the deals that are actually moving are on heavily compressed timelines with complicated structures (often multiple structures at the same time, trying to hit a market opening).

General consensus is we'll see a bounce back in late Q1.

We have slowed down of course but still have steady work. As with the poster above, our partners are predicting a slow Q1 followed by a busy spring. We'll see. Guess there's always BK if things truly go south. ...
