Do you feel the recession nerves at your firm?
V10 and during a large meeting had multiple anonymous questions about potential layoffs. People concerned elsewhere too?

Can confirm that similar questions were posed during a town hall at my firm, where mgmt clarified that no layoff/freeze is on the table. However, it seems like a matter of time as there has been zero real deal work on the horizon. IMO we will get some bounce Q4, but all depends on fed policies and if a real recession (ie, not just WST and SV) happens.

It is kind of a strange question to pose at a firm meeting. It's not like the firm would ever admit to planning layoffs..

I've heard at least two "We might all be working in bankruptcy in a few months!" jokes this since last week, but that's it.

The number of headhunter emails that continue to hit my inbox certainly wouldn't indicate that.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Oct 06, 2022 1:47 pmJob market suddenly feels tight - anyone else get the same feeling?

Aside from headhunters, how does one find lateral positions?Excellent117 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 06, 2022 3:03 pmThe number of headhunter emails that continue to hit my inbox certainly wouldn't indicate that.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Oct 06, 2022 1:47 pmJob market suddenly feels tight - anyone else get the same feeling?

The headhunters still exist, whether or not the volume of jobs is there.Excellent117 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 06, 2022 3:03 pmThe number of headhunter emails that continue to hit my inbox certainly wouldn't indicate that.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Oct 06, 2022 1:47 pmJob market suddenly feels tight - anyone else get the same feeling?
