Anyone have any insight into SEC's hiring timeline? It seems like they tend to move incredibly slowly. . .

Looks like the emails approving which pay grade you are eligible for are starting to go out. My understanding is that the SEC offices don't even look at your app until that's done. Hopefully that means things will start moving more?

Movement's happening today. Wasn't referred and was notified. Good luck to those moving forward

Does anyone have an idea of how long it takes from referral to interview request?

I've interviewed with a few divisions. In the interviews they told me HR would be making offers "quickly" and maybe "starting this week." I haven't heard anything back yet.

Have those generally been one or multiple round interviews?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Nov 16, 2022 9:32 amI've interviewed with a few divisions. In the interviews they told me HR would be making offers "quickly" and maybe "starting this week." I haven't heard anything back yet.

I also had interviews with more than one division like the poster above. I heard they could start offering positions this week but haven't heard anything yet. Every division I interacted with only had one interview.

One interview for each division. They only do one interview then send their selections to HR. Hopefully will hear back soon.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Nov 16, 2022 12:09 pmHave those generally been one or multiple round interviews?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Nov 16, 2022 9:32 amI've interviewed with a few divisions. Unfortunately I think most offices/divisions have at least completed interviewing.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Dec 19, 2022 3:01 amAnyone heard anything yet? I got referred but never got an interview

Re: Anyone apply to the SEC Chair’s Attorney Honors Program?
Ahh, well, a clerkship, securities LLM, and Student Honors Program internship didn't help me I guess. I would take a gander and say that a BigLaw summer associate job is probably more helpful in obtaining a real job with the SEC than interning with the SEC during law school. Wasn't meant to be.
