Embarrassed myself at first associate get together

Incoming first-year associate at a NYC V100 here.
Last night, I went out with some fellow incoming associates as well as some associates from my firm. By the time we got to the last bar, I had consumed a fair bit of alcohol. Anyway, one of the other incoming associates ordered a pitcher of beer, and we got three glasses with it.
We brought over the pitcher and glasses. He distributed them, and I poured them. I was left with a pitcher and about a glass-worth of beer in it.
One of the other associates said "that's all you, man!"
(It was a very crowded bar and all but impossible to get back to the bar for another glass)
I proceeded to drink directly from the pitcher.
I am afraid that all of my colleagues will think I'm an embarrassment who doesn't know when to put the bottle down. Do I look like a degenerate? Is my reputation fucked?
I've been a wreck about this all day...

I'm pretty sure I drank from a pitcher as a summer. You're fine.
First, the other associate basically invited you to do it. You obliged.
Second, nobody is going to think twice about this. They probably also figured the bar was too packed as well and would have done the same.
Third, even if they thought twice, it really doesn't matter what your fellow first years think. Unless it was coupled with inappropriate behavior or general sloppiness beyond how drunk everyone else was, nobody is going to hold it against you.
Forget that it ever happened, but next time, save yourself the self-imposed stress and go get a glass.

You're completely fine. It's normal to go into your first real professional career and worry about all the norms and what people think of you. A lighthearted chugging of a picture will be far from the worst thing you will see a junior associate or a summer do. If you're worried about drinking slow down or don't drink with colleagues but the event you're describing seems perfectly acceptable for a bunch of junior associates drinking together.

In my experience, nobody cares much how much you drink. They only care about dumb / inappropriate drunk behavior. So this is a nothingburger unless it resulted in your falling over or something.

Disappointing story, tbh. Was hoping for a fist fight or streaking.

i'd probably be more inclined to staff you on my stuff after seeing you do that. strong commitment, responds well to instruction, not afraid to go the extra mile, 10/10.
edit accidental anon: i'm lawlzschool

Never surprises me how neurotic law students are.

Honestly even falling over wouldn't be a problem in most situations.

Dude. I've done far worse in front of far more important people. This is less than nothing.
I knew a partner at Nixon Peabody and he told me that one of his associates got drunk as hell and tried to ditch a cab without paying and the partner had to bail the associate out of jail the next day. The partner apparently told the associate to not do it again. That's the type of thing that would warrant a thread like this.

Right? One time an associate in my class needed me to talk her out of peeing outside in public in front of a bunch of other associates. TBH I was just impressed with the fact that she was still standing after how much she drank. As long as you're not routinely the problem child, you're fine.
