Struck out at OCI, options?

Top 10% at one of the New York T14s, aiming for a smaller market because hubby has a stable job there.

I struck out at OCI, and I am not surprised - I didn't want biglaw anyway.

I come from a lower middle class background and don't care for the luxuries of life, so I don't think I will like biglaw culture. On the other hand, public defense and legal aid sounds like nightmare to me. I am trying to figure out what my options are for reasonably fulfilling work without the culture associated with biglaw.

Anyone has any idea?

Midlaw? Immigration? Family law? Trusts and estates? There's tons of options. I would try to network with grads from your school who are in the market you want but not in biglaw.

Why did you decide to attend law school? Your reddit post didn't shed light either.

It sounds like you go to Cornell. Make an appointment with the career services people to talk about your concerns with them in person. They will be able to guide you. You haven't provided enough information in your original post to get a helpful response here.

Aren't you the one from Reddit who's going to CLS or NYU? I doubt the folks here will provide a better answer here than folks there - I think the problem is that it's not that clear what you want, and it'll be hard for folks to provide concrete advice unless you could clearly state the specific jobs that you're targeting.
